Dr. Julie Williams
Dr Julie Williams is a Cincinnati native where she grew up in a family of medical professionals. She attended Maryville College in Tennessee where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Theatre and the Fine Arts. Because of her love of science and medicine, Dr Williams worked hard a few years later and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree- she practiced as a Registered Nurse for well over 12 years in the Cincinnati area. One of her life goals had always been to become a veterinarian and with fierce persistence and determination, she graduated from The Ohio State University in May of 2022 with her DVM. She is very excited to now be working in the Veterinary medical field and to have accomplished this lifelong dream.
Some of Dr. Williams’ specific interests in this field include Geriatric medicine, Palliative care and Hospice as well as pain management integrated with holistic medicine. One of the most important aspects of her work is creating a positive team environment and providing open communication with both clients and support staff. One of Dr Williams’ core values is to practice exceptional care for both pets and the people who love themeducation is an important tool that Dr Williams’ incorporates into every interaction so that she can work together with the client to improve patient outcomes.
Outside of work, Dr Williams cares for her 2 Labrador retrievers (Biscuit and Dottie) and 4 rowdy orange male cats. She loves to go hiking and being outdoors as well as reading, painting, enjoying music and attending live theatre events or concerts. Daily walks with her black Labrador Dottie and wellness is an important aspect of Dr Williams’ self care routine to help alleviate stress and maintain a balanced life so that she can better care for her patients. Prior to going to vet school, Dr Williams volunteered with several rescues as well as with the medical team at Cincinnati SPCA. One of her current goals is to get back into fostering homeless pets and offer her spay and neuter surgical experience to local animal shelters.
